Comfone’s headquarters are easily accessible from the Bern city centre and surrounding areas. We are located just a 5 minute walk from the “Wankdorf Center” tram stop, where trams run regularly (every 5 -10 minutes) and 5 minutes by car to the nearest highway exit.

Daniel Heutschi, our CEO, has worked at Comfone since 2007. He started his Comfone career as a Product Manager for the Key2roam Hub before becoming CFO and then CEO.

Let’s take some time to get to know him better. Check out his answers below to a few questions related to Comfone, life, and Switzerland!

What is your best memory from your time working at Comfone?

It’s hard because I have so many fantastic memories. I always love the team events where we do a boat trip on the Aare. I also enjoy the challenging times, because during adversity the whole Comfone team pulls together to deal with any situation. It is inspirational to see everyone come together with shock, strength, creativity, laughter, panic, fun and discovery.

What do you do during a typical day?

I start my day running through the news and my emails. I then prioritise the urgent tasks, before going to my task-list and making a start on my work. Some days, I have a lot of meetings to attend, and run from place to place. That is usually how my day goes. I don’t play golf, go to any clubs or anything else like this – sorry if it’s not too interesting?

Comfone is well-known for having great ties with customers. How do you ensure that this remains the case?

Hands down, the most important thing is to hire the right people.
Comfone staff are friendly, approachable and really care about our customers. Each of them wants to go above and beyond to support others.
It is something you cannot really train, so when we choose staff, we are looking for people who are interested in other people and their success. I strongly believe that this is the reason we have such great ties with our customers.

What do you feel is Comfone’s biggest strength?

This is clear to me – it’s all about the people. Comfone is a team of individuals, with different know-hows, lifestyles, ideas, and motivations. Together, it just works. We have so much brain-power, it’s amazing.

What motivated you to become the CEO of Comfone?

Again, the reason is clear. It is all about the people. When I took the role, I did not have a plan of things all mapped out or a clear vision of what might happen.
I saw the people who had been working at Comfone for years, and the people with so much potential and ability and I knew that I could take on the challenge. This is what has motivated me for so many years, and it is because of the people that the company continues to move from strength to strength. 

Do you prefer cheese fondue or raclette?

Definitely raclette – because with raclette you can eat more potatoes!
